She's kind of inconsistent and sometimes will run away instead of doing the tasks.</p> <p>She loves helping me with laundry. He likes to pick up his blocks and throw them back into the container, and today he was picking up his cheerios and putting them back into his bowl. I've been singing the cleanup song and encouraging him to put his bath toys into the bin thing in his tub. I guess I am more appreciative of that now. The only real chore is putting away silverware from the dishwasher. I started that at two an monitor. I just made sure to take out any sharp knives from the drawer. I only let her put away the butter knives when she turned 3. It is good for sorting. Also she helps sort the clothes and put her pile in her room. We do most of it but she gets it. She just gets distracted. I get her undressed for bath in her bedroom and she knew by 14 months that her clothes go in the hamper. She throws away pouches her in the trash, which I consider cleaning up after a meal. I tried to get her to dump her food left on the plate but the plate ends up in the trash too. This weekend, she helped DH take the trash out, by carrying an empty Diet Coke container. Right now (we started at 2) we encourage her to help us clean up her toys when she is done. We also have her put her shoes in the shoe basket we keep downstairs when we come inside. He puts his clothes away in the hamper before bath time. He feeds the dogs 2x a day (I scoop and he pours into their dog dishes). He throws his dirty diapers and small pieces of trash away. He "vacuums" and sweeps.
