@banana: hahaha I told myself I would never say "because I said so"...it's been said. Sometimes, you can explain things over and over again and there is nothing left to be said other than that phrase!

@Andrea: SO tiring! Actually, the older they get the more mentally tiring it is. I admit I've used "Because you have to and I said so!" a little more than I'd like. Some things just don't HAVE a good reason. Like why he can't go to school wearing his undies OVER his pants.

@Andrea: @mrs.bee: @boogiebea: @HLK208: When they're younger, they're needy because they can not do things for themselves. But once they hit the toddler/preschool age, they CAN do it for themselves but just seem to don't WANT to! That's almost worse! haha

Right now, she's 19 months and attached to my hip. I can't go anywhere or do anything without tripping over her! Then there's the whole sleep issue.

@Mrs. Bee: I agree! 3 = so needy!

We are at the start of 4 and he's still pretty needy. There was a short break between 18 months to 2.5 where he wasn't as needy though.

They both compete to be needy now. They're almost 4 and almost 2.

@Mrs. Bee: @banana: @Andrea: I'm hoping they will magically mature out of this phase at 4!

So far right now (9m) especially the past few weeks. Up every few hours all night, panic-crying when I'm out of his eyesight, getting hysterical until I pick him up and then hysterical when I set him down.

2 years old. Ugh, he can do so much for himself but he doesn't want to. He also doesn't want to be away from both me and my husband. So we both have to put him to bed and both have to have dinner etc. It is so trying to always be on. Sometimes I want my down time.

Newborn but she's only 8 months now! She just was very fussy as a newborn, couldn't go anywhere! Hopefully it won't be too bad after hitting a year..

15-17 months. That was the time that LO *could* walk but she was too scared to, so she always had to hold someone's hand. And she always wanted to walk. So we were constantly walking around with her.

Newborns have a lot of needs, especially at night but I think for LO the most needy she got was around 14-16 months.

I remember thinking this is so much harder than when she was a newborn. She was getting numerous teeth in at once so waking all the time, could play short periods by herself but they were pretty short, she still needed me to do most things for her and there was a lot more she wanted to try to do so it took a lot more effort on my part, and she was so dangerous with trying to pull down and climb on everything. Now she's almost 2 I keep looking at all the skills and (some) sense she acquired and think whew, it makes life so much easier.

When was your LO the most needy so far?
