I knew how to do basic things like heat up soup. My moms private time was in the kitchen, she used it to decompress, and now she regrets not teaching me to cook as a kid since it's an important life skill. My biggest worry is just that he'll burn himself, but I do let him saute things in a pan while I'm watching closely.</p> <p>I remember cooking ramen by myself when I was in the 5th grade, so I started cooking around 10. I don't think I ever burned myself cooking when I was young... I've actually have burned myself way more as an adult (I'm kind of clumsy).</p> <p>I pretty much only cooked ramen and eggs, and everything else was microwavable.
