As long as the cap is closed all the way. I've never had any leakage with these cups.

P.S. There is a class action lawsuit for this right now - https://foogobottlesettlement.com - we totally claimed all our cups.

I came to say yes to exactly what @Foodnerd81: described! We always make sure we push that purple piece down, then when we screw the cap everything is aligned and there is no space. We also make sure the silicone mouthpiece covers the hole.

@sorrycharlie: yup. And if you don't push t all the way back down after you clean it, leak city. I don't understand why it comes off, it serves no purpose other than being an extra piece to clean around. Why not just attach it?

@hotchildinthecity: do you make sure the extra piece is snapped down right? Like, there is the stainless steel cup, the cap, straw, then there is a piece that goes over the cup at the bottom of the screw part? I'm describing it badly, but if I don't push that all the way down before screwing on the top, it leaks. That's the only time we have had leaks.

Eta: the purple piece in the attached pic is what I'm talking about.

We use a hydroflask with a Klean Kanteen sports lid. I'm not sure if there is a straw lid, but things stay cold for hours.

@Greentea: @littlebug: thanks so much for the suggestions!! His speech therapist wants him using a straw cup. It seems like there are def better insulated sippies out there.

I don't know if you're specficially looking for a straw cup, but I got an OrganicKidz stainless steel cup at MommyCon a couple of years ago and we love it. It seals up perfectly and keeps things ice cold for hours. They have soft sippy tops or you can use it as an open cup.

Mine was a piece of crap. Broke the first time she used it.

I never found a good stainless straw cup. We use the Klean Kanteen toddler and the Pura, both are pretty good!

Don't over tighten!

I have found when you over tighten the straw gets twisted and will leak

Otherwise we love the foogo and its never leaked

The main thing is to make sure the straw is covering the hole in the cap, that there is no space. Otherwise, if the cap is closed, it shoudl not leak...but if the cap is open and the cup is turned upside down, even if the straw is positioned correctly, it will leak a few drops--but that is pretty much every cup.

I hate this cup. I need a thermos type straw cup because we need things to stay cold for a long time. If I twist it a millimeter too tight or don't have the straw lined up perfectly or Mercury is in retrograde, this thing leaks EVERYWHERE.

I was about to leave for work/daycare this morning and LO's lunch bag was SOAKED.
