Dates are a good idea! My objective is to prevent (to an extent) a ton of sticky/greasy fingerprints and parents having to hover extensively to help children eat. Meatballs are easy (I do mini ones in the crockpot with ketchup and ginger ale) but can be messy. A crowd fave is bree, crackers with a red pepper jelly... sooooo good! Three kinds of cheese, grapes, figs, jar of honey and some crackers.
