The breastfeeding issues and borderline colic. So much vacuum noise & bouncing.

And the time LO had a crazy poopslopsion in her car seat. My mom watched me in horror as I changed LO on the ground of the grocery store parking lot. There was no way to carry her. I thought I cleaned it all up but I missed the huge puddle in the car seat base. I found it when I got back in the car an hour later - on a 104F day.

Vomiting in the car on the way out of town. It was Sooooooo gross!!!! The smell and the ride back home was excrutiating.

Truett's hospital stay. Awful and emotional.

Also the first time he passed out from holding his breath. I was traumatized. He's done it a few times since, but we know what to expect and it's not AS scary as that first time. I felt sick.

The hot mess of a three day span when my supply tanked and I irrationally insisted on not supplementing with formula, which resulted in me AND my 9 month old crying at every feeding, her because she was hungry and me because I felt like a failure.

Thinking back on it just epitomizes all the unbelievable self-inflicted pressure I put on myself that first year. I wish I could go back and tell myself to CHILL OUT.

The baby blues I experienced pp. I've never gone through such an emotionally draining experience in my life.

When the boys were six weeks old, T was hospitalized for five days for what turned out to be nothing, but at the time we weren't sure and he had to go through so many tests. Having to deal with breast feeding/pumping with one twin at home and another in the hospital was so difficult, not to mention being separated from DH because we had to switch off on who stayed at the hospital since D hadn't been vaccinated and was too young to be at the hospital. Fortunately, nothing came from it but that was so hard for us.

We are only four months in but the pain of early breastfeeding is near the top of my list. If it counted though the number one thing would be having hyperemesis during my pregnancy. I thought I was over it but I got nauseous the other day and I was in tears and called my husband in a panic that maybe I was pregnant.

@PinkElephant: Yikes! Hospital stays for younger babies are probably even scarier! And I really feel for parents who have had babies in the NICU for any amount of time.

And related to your poop one - I wish I could forget the time Xander had a blowout so bad, the legs of his PJs were filled with it! That was the most disgusting thing I've ever had to see or smell!!

That time we were on a cross-county flight and I forgot to pack LO any spare clothes in my carry-on and she decided to pee-pee all over her clothes 1/3 of the way into the flight. Nekkid bebe for the remainder of the flight, good times.

And of course, the weeks and weeks of colic.

@Adira: Ditto on the hospital stay. DD#2 was in the hospital for 5 days with suspected meningitis at 2 months old. That experience has nearly put me off wanting to have another baby (not logical, I know, because bad things still happen to older children....but it was so terrifying).

On a lighter note.....poop down the legs of the footie PJs during potty training. Ugh. I'll have to forget that one before I potty train DD#2.

1. exclusively pumping, I'm seriously haunted by the sound of the pump. I hated it so much, I'm hoping I can actually breastfeed this time and not reliant solely on the pump.

2. DD's acid reflux/projectile vomiting/crying because she was in pain. It was a rough before we started to get answers as to why it was so bad. I remember crying because I felt helpless.

For me...

Breastfeeding the first month with LO 1- I struggled and cried so much! I wasn't prepared for the learning curve and pain and I was an emotional wreck about my milk coming in so late.

Naps the first year with LO 1-She was a great night sleeper pretty early on but her naps when to shit when she got sick of the Snug a Bunny swing at 4.5 months. She fought naps a lot until she was maybe 13-14 months. Zzzzzzz

LO 2 projectile vomited a lot during her first 6 weeks. I changed so many sheets, clothes and took so many extra showers...yuck!
