The process has made my husband and I so much stronger as a team, and has taught me how much I can trust him to be there for me. We're in this together.

@Leialou: this image (of embryos on the fridge) brings tears to my eyes. They absolutely are a piece of you and your husband  I could never toss those away.

For me, the biggest positive of IVF is that it's the only thing that worked.

@Jenn23: hahaha I avoided Claire's for YEARS after that out of humiliation! I was with my mom (thank god!), and I remember hearing Ludacris on the radio in the store, and thinking "hmm... I'm going down" and then waking up a second later on the floor, and Ludacris was still playing. Every time I hear that song (the what's your fantasy one) I think of that day!

@Shutterbug: Holy crap!! I have the same story. I passed out at Claire's in our mall when I was 13 getting my ears pierced!!! LOL I had two friends with me, and was so embarrassed!! I knocked over all the little "Troll dolls" on a stand next to me. I got over my needle phobia, too. I have fainted way too many times when younger over needles.

Definitely the pic of the embryos! (although I threw away the first pic when it didn't work because it made me sad... then I regretted it so I kept the second pic).

Also, I used to be THE biggest needle-phobe ever. I once fainted from a flu shot, and another time I fainted while getting my ears pierced at Claires (I was 18, so I can't blame little kid jitters, haha). IVF has completely cured me of my fear, which I never thought would be possible.

I agree with all of the things listed already!!

No more crazy ttc sex, knowing we had a really good chance and were doing all we could to get pregnant, bonding with my husband during all the injections and appointments, seeing the pics of the two embryos, hearing my RE say at the end of the transfer, "OK, they are in...now we wait". I still get choked up every time I see the video. My husband took a video of the transfer while by my side. :)

Most of these have been said, but I agree! Here are mine:

-No more stress of baby making sex.

-Knowing that I am doing all I can to get pregnant

I am sure I am going to love embie pics and all that too, but we aren't there yet!

I didn't get pictures or a Petri dish. :bummed:

I was much calmer during the beginning of my IVF pregnancy even with the vanishing twin than I was during my surprise pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. All of the early monitoring definitely helped allay my fears.

Infertility is tough so looking on the bright side can be helpful. These are the things I like about IVF:

-no more TTC sex
-getting a photo of the embryos. Not many people get to see their babies that small.
