Local restaurants I've been wanting to try are Chez Panisse and Manresa. </p> <p>@lemondrop: We collect Iron Chefs, too! We've been to Bobby Flay and Batali's restaurants a couple times. I also really enjoyed Morimoto in Napa. </p> <p>@regberadaisy: I've gotten French Laundry reservations twice by calling and once online. It's a lot of persistence and a lot of luck. :-P Worth it, though! I loved it. </p> <p>@Maisymay: It's more like 9-10 (unless you count every time they offer you bread?), and they're pretty small courses. You do end up *very* full, though. I get most excited about eating sushi out at restaurants since it's so hard to make for yourself. DH and I go out to nice restaurants a lot, but it's rarely for japanese since it's so darned expensive.</p> <p>For those of you who have trouble getting a reservation at a popular restaurant, one thing you can do is go there for lunch. It's much easier to get a reservation or just to be seated in general. We went to Batali's in Vegas for my birthday a year ago. All the odd ingredients just don't sound enjoyable to me (organs and such). Although, if I were to go and visit her, I am sure that I would want to try it there just to say that I did.</p> <p>I don't know of a place I would really like to go, but I did eat at the Top of the Hub in Boston a couple of times and had really superb meals. It was definitely an amazing experience, but not a place I would ever go back to!
