Just an update, AF arrived today. Honestly, I'm a little relieved, but it also has me super motivated to get in shape and get our things in order so we can actually start TTC sooner rather than later.

Well, I couldn't wait and it had been 4 hours since I last peed so I took a FRER (rapid result, that detects both pregnancy hormones) test and it was very clearly negative. I know it's still early, so I'll test again in a couple days. Thanks for all the responses!

@sorrycharlie: Thanks, that is really comforting! I don't even know if I'm pregnant yet and I was feeling like a terrible mom! I'll probably break down and take one tomorrow morning and see... But no matter what the test says, I won't trust it until my period is here or over a week late. I just have a feeling.

I always say the only way to know is to test. For what it's worth, dollar store tests are relatively accurate - I got positive on a target brand FRER 9 dpo evening, too.

That said, I was sick my entire pregnancy. I didn't take my prenatals about half the time. And my LO is perfectly healthy :) So don't worry too much about that, especially since there's nothing you can do to go back and change it!

@Grace: Thanks, I was super sick for almost 17 days or something crazy like that! And I don't even know what results I'm hoping for!! ;)
@Mrs. J: Thanks, I know it will... things like this always do. :) But the waiting SUCKS!

If I was taking a bet, I'd bet that you aren't pregnant. Just because you were quite ill and that's hard on the body. It is still possible. I hope you get the result you are hoping for!

Echoing what@babyboecksmom: said...you probably ovulated, but the only way to confirm will be a test. Many women feel no symptoms prior to a BFP, so I wouldn't rule it out just yet. Try not to stress too much...whether you're pregnant or not, it will all work out in the end.

@BabyBoecksMom: Thanks! I know the only way to know is to take a test, but I don't want to test too early and get a false negative, but I'm also worried that I could get a false positive (like a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage), I just know my body and I don't feel pregnant (not that I know what being pregnant feels like, I just don't feel any different). I'm really on the fence with how I'd feel, so it's just really confusing. :/

@o0olibelulao0o: I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. Sickness and travel could delay ovulation, but if you felt your cervix and it was high and soft, then you probably ovulated. The fatigue sounds more like it's your body recovering from your illness. The only way to be certain is to take an early test in a couple of days ;-) Also, I wouldn't worry about missing your vitamins for just a few days. If you're really worried about it, just grab some generic ones from the grocery store to hold you over until you get the ones you have been taking.

Ok this is going to be a little long bear with me. My husband and I aren't actually TTC yet, but we're only half heartedly TTA (the timing isn't quite right, but we're fine if it happens a little sooner).

I've been off bc (IUD) for 1 full cycle (and one really short cycle), so this is only my second full cycle off, I was charting for the first cycle and know I O'd around CD16, and then had my period 15DPO. This month I didn't really chart because I was traveling just days after my cycle started and then I got really sick, then christmas, and still sick... Well, turns out DH and I DTD and accidentally pulled to goalie on CD16 (for some reason I thought I wasn't that far into my cycle!), I felt my cervix (the only reliable symptom to track at that point, since I was sick and on all kinds of medicine) and it was high, soft and open... So I'm pretty sure I was ovulating. Then the next day my sickness peaked and I had a fever, cough and basically felt like death and went to the doctor and got put on antibiotics (not thinking about how I could be pregnant, I blame delirium) and basically had a low grade fever (around 100 degrees) for the next 5 days. Then about 6/7dpo I had some spotting (I haven't spotted during a cycle before).

Today is 9dpo and I'm planning on testing on Monday (what would be 11dpo/5 days before I expect AF). I don't have any symptoms besides sore boobs (which I get before getting AF anyway, and they aren't any worse than normal) and I've been tired, but that could also be from being from still recovering from being sick.

So I guess what I'm wondering is what do you think the odds are that I'm pregnant?? Has anyone gotten pregnant when really sick like this? Or do you think my body could have delayed ovulation and the 6dpo spotting could have been from ovulation and not implantation bleeding?

I'm really nervous that I'll be pregnant, and something will go wrong because of all the medicine I've been on and the fevers... And I haven't been taking my prenatals (I'm out and where I get them is out of the way, I've been too sick)... The timing wouldn't be great either, so in a way I'm hoping I'm not, because I really want to get healthy before getting pregnant (I need to lose weight) and timing wise for work waiting a few more months would be ideal... ugh. Thanks for reading, any feedback would be great.

(sorry for the super long post, I haven't had anyone to talk to about this so this is mostly a brain dump, I needed to get this out there!)
