Just downloaded Anna Karenina via Amazon Kindle, and it was free, woohoo! I was inspired by the movie trailers, which look amazing.

Glad to hear people saying good things about Gone Girl... I just started a book club, and I think that's going to be our first book!

Buying books is my weakness. I have so many lining my shelf that need to be read, and we have a great library here that I should use more often.

Off the top of my head, the books most recently purchased include:
Taking Charge of Your Fertility
Whatever You Do, Don't Run: True Tales of a Botswana Safari Guide
Where'd You Go, Bernadette?
Geek Love
Perfect Puppy in 7 Days

@MaisyMay: they are GOOD. Really, really good. I also really enjoyed Delirium & Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver.

Along those same lines I've heard that The Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner is really good as well.

As for me, the last two books I've read are FireFly Lane by Kristin Hannah (so-so) and Love Anthony by Lisa Genova (new book by one of my favourite authors, she's ahmazing).

@MaisyMay: I haven't read them yet, but I heard the same thing! It has great reviews and the plot seems interesting. I'm finishing up a book right now and as soon as I'm done, I'm going to start that series. I'll let you know!

I am an indiscriminate reader. I'll read just about anything, especially if it's cheap! That being said, over Thanksgiving I hit up the dollar bookstore in LA, bought 25 books for myself and really hope that they last until January, but have some doubts.

One favorite that I finished yesterday was Pope Joan: A novel. It examines the evidence behind the legend of Pope Joan after presenting a ficitious account of her life. There was some pretty compelling evidence that a female pope existed, though she lived much of her life disguised as a man.

Right now I'm reading "Knock'em Dead," a fluffy little murder mystery.

@Mrs. High Heels: I had somebody recommend Insurgent and Divergent to me yesterday since I mentioned that I had liked the Hunger Games. Does that hold true?

Hmm, bought? It's been awhile. I did just get Gone Girl (and LOVED it) a few weeks back, I read Wild by Cheryl Strayed (which was...decent enough), and one of my absolute favorite guilty pleasures was 1963 by Stephen King... I gotta get out and buy more!

Well, I work in a library, so I haven't actually *bought* a book for myself in quite some time. If renting counts, the last few were:

The House of Velvet and Glass
by Katherine Howe

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal
by Christopher Moore

Sacre Bleu
by Christopher Moore

Gone Girl
by Gillian Flynn

I did buy a baby name book a while back, and I bought "Gregor the Overlander" by Suzanne Collins for a niece and nephew of mine :)
