I liked 'You:Having a Baby' (I think by doctor oz), just for the diagrams and things that he uses. Not worth buying, but if you can get it from the library, it's fun. I also liked Happiest Baby on the Block. Also, subscribe to Pregnant Chicken's email list- her week by week info is hilarious. Lucies List is a good website/email list as well.

Baby Love by Robyn Barker is a very moderate look at parenting - nothing dictated, just a long list of possibilities you might encounter, and some strategies to deal with the expected and the unexpected. I read it while pregnant and I'm referring to it constantly with my now 17 week old.

By far the best book I've read is Baby on Board by Dr Howard Chilton. Its basically a book full of "take a chill pill, everything is ok" -which in the first month or so is exactly what you need to hear ALL THE TIME.

I think both books are Aussie, but I'm not sure.

I loved Bringing Up Bebe, so I actually bought her other book, Bebe Day By Day, that really crystallizes her advice in a way that's easy to find and highlight: http://www.amazon.com/Bébé-Day-Keys-French-Parenting-ebook/dp/B009D3G5AO/

I liked "origins" by annie murphy paul. It is about how the baby's experiences in the womb shape their preferences and behavior after birth--really interesting, scientific but accessible.

I'm due in March and have only read a few TTC books. I would like to get started on some reading material besides the internet. I am halfway through Bringing Up Bebe and I'm really enjoying it. Perhaps some more 'out of the box' suggestions.
