@coacheswife123: Les Mis is a monstrous book to get through! I've seen the musical several times and LOVE it but just couldn't get into the book. I think I got through about 400 pages and was only starting to get into the actual story that is portrayed in the musical. Ugh.

I love reading but am STILL working my way through Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. I've only been reading it for about two months now, sigh. It's a great book but there's just so little time to read now!

@DigAPony: I actually really liked it, though it was darker than I expected. I think because of the title and cover art I figured it would be more commercial? But I prefer dark, so it worked out for the best anyway.

And I have never read any Chabon before, but I'm really into it so far. All kinds of issues are covered: race, class, the effects of gentrification and even midwifery!

@meredithNYC: I'm loving it so far! I'm a big Aimee Bender fan. She came to my university last year and I got to meet her. What was your take on the book? Also--love Michael Chabon!

@Mrs. Tricycle: I so agree with you, I guess I just have so much hope that the books will get better. In this particular case, it was recommended and lent to me by a very good friend. Normally I trust her reading choices but I'm just hoping this gets better before I have to tell her that I gave up on it!! haha

@coacheswife123: It's nothing like HP. At all. So you can't read it with that expectation. It does have fantastic character development, and there is a complex somewhat interesting plot. But it's a little too much for me. A little too much drama and scandal to the point that it's not relatable. I have a hard time feeling like I'm "there."

@hilsy85 I thought the EXACT same thing, I read Bossypants first then Kalings right after and was really let down. A few parts were funny but it all seemed really whiny and focused on her weight/looks... total opposite of Bossypants which blew my socks off for being funny and actually meaningful

I just started Life of Pi - I'd picked it up at Goodwill a while back and the movie trailers reminded me to read it!

I'm reading Les Miserables - I've never seen the play and want to see the movie when it comes out but want to read the book first! Its like a bazillion pages long, though. I've been reading it for 2 weeks and my kindle only has me at 5% completed. Waaah!

I just fininshed Ursula Le Guinn's Earthsea rotation which I think is classified as YA. Those are some of the best books I've read in a while but kimd of heavy, so I was looking for a	"fluff" read
