Honestly, I made it a party for me! We invited our friends, many of whom have kids. There were about 50 adults and 20 kids invited, and I was shocked by how few people declined the invitation.</p> <p>We have plenty of friends who are not parents, too. So, I scheduled the party for 2pm and hired a guy from Music Together to come at 2:30. The evite stipulated that people could come at 3:30 for birthday cake and a drink if they wanted to skip the children's entertainment.</p> <p>My crazy husband volunteered to make tea sandwiches and lemonade. I baked scones. We had sparkling rose, beer and wine. And there were still about 30 people there at 5pm, so we ordered pizza. The problem in NY is apartments are small, so you have to spend a lot to have them in a venue. Most people have birthday parties at a play gym at this age for cold weather birthdays.</p> <p>I definitely want to do something for Charlie too (once they're in school they go to so many birthday parties), but not sure what to do for his either!</p> <p>Are you throwing your LO a birthday party this year?
