It's a bit of a time commitment, but once I got into it (and figured out all of the characters) I was hooked. Agree that it takes a few hundred pages, but if you read all of the books it's like 5,000 pages!</p> <p>I am listening to Atlas Shrugged right now. And then I got sidetracked...</p> <p>We just recently watched the first season of the Game of Thrones TV series and I got hooked (even though I didn't expect that at all!), so I am currently reading the second book. My husband had loaned his copy of the first book to his dad but had the second and subsequent ones on Kindle, so that's why I started there. So far, I don't really feel like I needed anything from the first book that I didn't pick up from the first season of the show. I have also heard that the first Game of Thrones book is hard to get into at first, but if you stick with it for the first few hundred pages, you'll be hooked (when I heard that, I thought, why on earth would someone "stick with" a book for several hundred pages if they couldn't get into it sooner?
