Though I remember thinking we were backward growing up when we waited forever to get an answering machine. Also before caller id - that really made answering the phone a gamble!</p> <p>I have learned to like text a lot for this stage in life. I love long emails but with kids its hard to read or write. I used to write longer emails, but now my emails are usually a lot shorter (along with my patience). I still enjoy long personal emails, but I always try to keep my professional emails brief.</p> <p>I don't really like phone calls (unless prearranged), and I detest voicemails. I can't remember the last time I left a voicemail! Maybe 15 years or so. </p>
