No cereal breakfast either – he made either pancakes or waffles and bacon every morning for us before he went to work.</p> <p>He also bought me Michael Jackson’s Thriller on cassette (I’m old, haha) which was a big coup because my mom wouldn’t let me have it! To this day; best Christmas present ever.</p> <p>My dad also used to play this game with us where my brother and I would make up the grossest combinations of food and he would eat them and the whole time he would be like “oh man, this is sooooo good!! Oh, this new combination is my favorite!!” which cracked us up and grossed us out (a pretty idea combo for little kids!). When I was really little I remember getting mad at him because he didn't say "HI!" back when I said it to him (I thought he could see me, too!). </p> <p>When I was a little older it was definitely outdoorsy stuff. My dad is a pretty outdoorsy guy, but neither of my brothers are really into that stuff. So my dad &amp; I would always go on hikes, or bike rides, or camping trips or river trips, just the two of us.</p> <p>OH! He had to travel a lot for work, but whenever he would come home, he would always bring something special back for us. Once he stopped traveling, he would always carry us to bed and read us our bedtime story. And, when we had a good report card, he would take us out, individually, to breakfast. We always had such a fun time. </p> <p>There are so many more things I could talk about! For my father-daughter dance at our wedding, we started off slow and then interrupted it with the Twist. </p> <p>Also, my dad used to always come home and play a record before dinner (we had an old record player from my grandparents). He had the best collection - Michael Jackson, Abba, Blondie...
