My son is 5 and has ALWAYS had the same interests, basically cars and trucks and things that go, and building these things with Legos. For the last 2 years, that has expanded into space, mechanics and engineering. He has never had any interest in animals or dinosaurs or super heroes or really any other subject. We buy tons of books geared towards his machine/science interests. We also signed him up for a junior engineering class, which he loves. </p> <p>My daughter is much more interested in animals, princesses and puzzles. Now that I write it all out, I guess he's the stereotypical boy in that sense. He is really into adventure of all kinds.</p> <p>My daughter has picked up a lot of her brother's interests, like superheroes (but usually female ones). But she has a huuge love of all animals, just like her mom. Her brother loves animals too, but she takes it to a whole new level. </p>
