EWCM is really the only thing I pay attention to to track ovulation. I have a pretty regular 28 day cycle and ovulation is typically around day 14 for me. If my cycles weren't normal I'd probably try charting.

I just got EWCM, no other signs... except I would usually notice an increase in my sex drive!

I think charting could do the opposite of making you psycho--it gives you a sense of empowerment to know what is going on with your body. It's kind of fun!

I bought the expensive OPKs for my first go round, and used them sparingly (only twice) for November. Mistake! My plan for Dec. is to use the Wondfos, then a digital one if I'm confused or need extra confirmation.

My O symptoms are EWCM and cramps. Nothing more than that, but as with everything in TTC, everyone is different!

@chibee: i'm resistant to charting cause it will make me even more psycho, but i probably really need to!!

@chibee: The one cycle I decided not to temp, my OPKs suddenly followed a different pattern. They had always been so reliable - one day of lighter positive followed by darker positive, and the second day was always the day of O. That cycle, it was all messed up and it never went back to that pattern! I went back to charting after that.

@runnerd: That's why I try to test in the mornings and then twice a day only when I think I'm maybe a day or two from O.

god i totally feel you on this - im now wondering if I missed my surge because i have never ovulated this late. and of course this the one month i decided NOT to temp. let me know how it turns out, and i'm thinking maybe we should both chart our temps next cycle!

@runnerd: Like Leialou, I gave up on the Wondfos and splurged on the CBE OPKs. I never got a result on a Wondfo that I was confident was a positive. The smiley face is pretty clear though!

@spaniellove: i don't chart chart, i was doing 2x tests, but i drink so much water during the day, i don't know if they were reliable in the afternoons.

I never had reliable symptoms that I was Oing. I charted my temps so I could confirm after the fact that I did O, but I couldn't tell just on symptoms. Sometimes I thought I had an O pain or something, but I really think I was just symptom spotting.

That's why I splurge on digital OPKs. They are so hard to read otherwise! And since I'm using them to time an IUI I really have to be certain. My ovulation signs are lots of ewcm and sharp pinching type cramps on either my right or left side. The cramps last a couple hours.

I have to ask: 1) are you charting? 2) how often are/were you testing? If you're only testing once a day it's totally possible to miss your LH surge!

It's also possible for your body to try to ovulate and not do it, and then try again later in your cycle. I don't have a whole lot of symptoms around O other than EWCM...

i'm so so so frustrated right now with my OPK. i got my strongest lines over a week ago, which i thought (and still think) were negative, but i'm not sure anymore, b/c i still haven't had a positive. i wonder if i will ever get a positive - i have to pee all the time cause i drink a lot of water, so it's really hard for me to hold it for testing!!!!

anyways, i had some spotting and very faint cramps last week a few days after the darker OPKs that i thought were negative. still didn't think they were positive, b/c today is when i was expecting positive.

now the past two days i have had "twinge" type pains in nipples - is that an ovulation sign? or does that only happen after ovulation?

what are your normal ovulation symptoms?
