@Andrea: nope. I just look at Easter stuff, think oh that's cute! And move on. Since we don't do Easter its kind of pointless. I do have some egg dying ideas in my passover board, but you already did that.

@mrs. wagon: I still love getting new art supplies!

@Oceanis723: we do the same kind of thing for passover. My dad breaks off a piece of matzo and hides it. Whoever finds it gets a prize. But in my family, there's enough for all the kids to find and get prizes.

On Easter morning my dad would hide our baskets and we would get up and search for them. The older we got the more creative he got. It was super hard to find them. Then we would go to church in a new Easter dress. We would do an egg hunt at church then come home and my mom would make a big Easter dinner. Usually it's ham, green beans, potatoes, and jello salad

@artbee: fantastic ideas!! He does need some more bath toys... and he's definitely into coloring these days. I think he'd die at the sight of a brand new box of crayons. Remember those days??? Sigh.

@mrs. wagon: What about some toys, like a stuffed bunny, or some spring time clothes? Or Easter books, Easter coloring book, bubbles, bath toys, etc. I think anything would be fine, especailly things that he actually needs!

We used to wake up super early for Easter morning service, then go home for breakfast/more sleep. Church at 11am, lunch at church, then home!

my family also had no traditions... other than buying easter outfits and going to church. But I LOVED easter traditions at church and through my friends' families... our neighborhood actually painted bunny prints on everyone's walkways each easter and I loved that! (even though the easter bunny never left me a basket... haha.)

I'm really excited to start easter traditions this year with RJ. Last year he was still a little bit too young to understand or enjoy. This year we're going to an easter egg hunt at his preschool and I will (at some point this week... eek!) put together an easter basket for him. I like going out on Easter Sunday for dinner so we'll have to find a restaurant... we used to go to a greek seafood restaurant where we used to live in the city but it's too far now.

@Andrea: Sooooo yummy! We're actually not having it at my house this year because everyone has so much going on, so I'm going to miss my mom's food. MIL's food is very yummy too. But it's tradition at her house to not add salt to the soup so we all have to pass it around. Hope you find some traditions you love!

My family had no traditions so I'll be interested in this thread to get some ideas for my own little family!

I thought I'd be more general because I celebrate Passover, but I'd love to hear Easter traditions too!

I always help my mom make dinner, and part of the Seder plate is a hard boiled egg, so we dye it every year. I think I must have been jealous of my friends who celebrate Easter when I was young but not it's tradition. It's the same meal every year, starting with matzo ball soup, then brisket. My parents have lots of different Hagaddah's (the book that leads you through the seder) so it's tradition that nobody ever has the same book and we never know where we are. At my husband's house, my MIL only keeps kosher for the meal. By the time dessert comes..... she serves something like banana bread. It's kind of nice because Passover food is gross.
