We're a few weeks into cold weather here. I am doing layers like this: (boy)

short sleeve onesie, hoodie or sweater-with-hat, pants, socks, Robeez boots, and mittens!

Loving microfleece. Old Navy microfleece hoodies that make the babies look like animals are my personal fave. :)

I find the short-sleeve onesie layer is still important because some places turn up the heat too much and its like summer inside then!

I also love 'snowsuits'. We go for a pre-bed walk every night so I just pop him in the snowsuit and know he'll be nice and warm for the walk.

Layers. Long sleeve onesies over rompers/overalls. For us it's the perfect layering for being in a chilly room and not super bulky that I can't put her in an bundler for walks outside. I can always add a sweater and a jacket on top if its really chilly.

I bought a few sweaters and thin jackets. She hasn't worn tights yet, but she has a few of them as well.

I just stocked up on a bunch of pants, long sleeve onesies and hats. I think I'm going to pick up more winter hats and hooded sweaters. I don't know if buying an actual jacket is worth it?

We go for a walk every morning with the dog and since it's been cooler we leave him in his footed pajamas, put on his hat, sweater and a pair of Robeez fur-lined boots. Some of his pajamas have sleeves that fold over as mittens too.

I'm in England, so it's already full-on Fall here. I would say lots of jackets/hoodies/sweaters and thick tights in a variety of colors (we have white, ivory, black, gray, baby pink, hot pink and red). You can make any outfit work with a cute sweater and tights, even a sundress.

Fleece anything, it's light and warm, they can move around easily.

Also, lined pants. I much prefer this to tights, but I have a boy. It's quite common for boys to wear tights here too, when they are inside, they take off their pants. I just find that strange, so we do lined pants.

So far I have bought her a fleece hoodie which is great for keeping her warm and also a ruffle cardigan bolero type thing for church. I also bought her long sleeve onesies and then I layer her summer clothes over it. And thick tights too.
I do want to get her a pea coat too.

I'm in Florida so it's different for me. For cold weather ill put her in long sleeves, pants, a jacket, socks, and a hat.

I'm looking at my daughter's closet thinking we're missing something for fall: Pants.

What are your staple items for your infant for Fall/Winter? She is almost 4 months old so, she'll be in 6-9 month clothes during the chilly seasons.
