I just set him in his crib after I read a book and sing a song and he either happily lies there and falls asleep or happily lies there for a second, cries for a few seconds after I walk out, and then falls sleep shortly after. When he was sleeping beside our bed I did try putting my hand on his chest and I think he did like that. I do the hand trick when I put her in her crib. She is swaddled and on her back. I'll usually lay her down and put one hand on her chest and one down by her knees. The hand comforts them, and then you can slowly move your hand away over the course of 5-10 minutes... and they will usually stay deep asleep.</p> <p>That one worked for me just now, woohoo!!</p> <p>What are your tricks for getting your LO down for a nap? </p>
