We started attending a moms group weekly when LO was 5 weeks or so. We joined mom/baby yoga when he was 4 months and have been going on playdates with our local moms group since 6 months or so. I met some really nice people at the first group I joined and that led to us being involved in more activities with some of the people we met.

We started going to story time at the library right before 4 months. Before then, we also found a lot of mom meet-ups through Meetup.com. Now she's 10 months and we've been going to a gym-type class where she can crawl around, discover things and be active.

We did infant massage, and really enjoyed it. It also helped with getting LO calmed down during fussy times, got me out of the house, and we made friends at the same time.

I also went to a Mom's group and a breast feeding support group weekly as well.

We went to a moms group at first. Then when she was about 3 months we started baby yoga. Now at 6 months we do baby yoga, story time for babies, and a waldorf play group. She started appreciating the other babies at around 4-5 months. It was totally for me before then, but worth it!

We've been going to a breast feeding support group at the hospital since she was a few weeks - even though things are good now I go for the interaction with other moms. I've been going to Stroller Strides since she was 11 weeks and that's great! Mine is now 15 weeks and just starting to notice the other babies - a class is wasted on her, so I stick with what I need for my social interaction.

Check out your local libraries for story time. I know ours accepts babies as newborns-1 year & then they move up. We have done story time & started a music class at 4m. I think we did story time starting at 3m but I saw lots of mamas there with younger babies.

My LO is 5 months old and we still haven't gotten to do any groups yet :( There's only a couple of them in our area, and they're all geared towards toddlers. It's a major bummer because I'm a SAHM and new to the area, and I really want to get out and meet some people!

We are going to a mom and me type class at Isis- it's definitely more for the moms to have someplace to go and talk to other moms in the same boat. Babies start at age4-10 weeks (C was 6 weeks I think when it started ). It's totally worth it for me- we talk about issues we are having as moms, sleep, feeding, infant massage and soothing techniques. If you have anything like that around you I would recommend it. The babies don't interact really, though some have started staring at each other.

We started doing a mommy & me type class at around 3 months, I wanted to wait til he got his shots. Before that, I went to a moms group at our pedi's office, but he had no interaction with other babies--just sat on my lap the whole time. I also went to some mommy meet ups when he was around 8 wks--I think going out of the house is fine as soon as you feel up to it!

I'm not sure whether S is really old enough for social activities yet at 4wks, but I'm getting to the point where I need to get out of the house. We moved recently, so I don't have friends nearby and I think I need to start meeting people.

I've seen a baby massage class nearby starting from 6wks and a sensory play group from 8wks of age.

What age did you start taking your LO to groups and what did they enjoy?
