I got two ugly outftis from one of DH's aunts and because she is such a sweetie and I loved her I couldn't bring myself to return them. Now that he is at the age he can wear them, I grimace. I would never put him in it lol!! and I washed them and took the tags off. At first I was really excited about the blankets. Every time I got a pack, the people would say "You can never have too many receiving blankets", and at first I believed them. After a while, I started thinking that people would feel bad if I returned THEIR receiving blankets. I try and be so 'fair' about things. For example, LO has like 45 onesies that currently fit him. And even though there are probably 10 that are my favourites and 10 that I don't really care for, I put them all in a line and use them as they come to the front of the line to be 'fair' to all of them. It is insane. For the receiving blankets, I came up with this idea to use them as a 'pillow' for LO on the change table. And I was changing out the blanket every day, and after a while, maybe after I finally used each of the blankets, I decided that it was insane and only making more laundry for no reason. Voila - free wipes :) @MsMini: Yeah, we have a few quilts. My grandma made him two, and my great aunt made him one. One is the general colors, and the two from my grandma - albeit beautiful - are safari animals in baby green and blue, which don't match. But it's the sentiment. It's special to have something from his great-grandma. Didn't register for any but I am pretty sure we ended up with about 40. I don't even use them AT ALL. (Use muslin blankets and other types of baby blankets). I am also a bit overwhelmed with all the quilts and knitted blankets we got too, but at least I use those sometimes (though we did NOT need such a selection).
