I think most of the time the expectation is that part time positions do not come with benefits. From time to time I have come across pt jobs that offer some PTO, usually two weeks worth of hours, one at the family's choosing and one of the nanny's choosing. As a nanny, I made sure to specify eventually that unless it were due to an emergency I expected to be paid if they canceled at the last minute. It's one thing if it is a baby sitter but when you make your living as a nanny it's important not to be shocked because one of the parents decided to take the day off to go to the zoo with their lo (which is totally fine! I just needed to pay my bills still.)

So short answer, no need to offer benefits but extra consideration is super appreciated.

We have a part time nanny, about 20 hours a week. We do not offer benefits. Curious to hear what others do though!

If you have a part-time nanny, say 2 - 3 days a week, do you offer them benefits such as vacation days, sick days, major holidays off/paid (if it falls on one of their care days)? We're looking for a 2-day a week nanny and wondering how this works! Thanks!
