Of course cleaning my room. Other than that it was whatever chore I was told to do that day. I never really had a set list, just whatever had to be done. </p> <p>Already at 2 DS is responsible for putting his toys away before bath time. I think it is good to start them young with how to take care of things. As a teenager, I mowed the lawn weekly, and we did the dishes nightly, but there weren't other set chores in the house. We had to clean the house and weed the garden whenever my mom told us to (which felt like all the time). My sister and I had farm chores every afternoon when we were teenagers. Feed and water the calves and the pigs and clean their stalls. Give the cows water and milk them. When we were really unlucky, we had to help clean graineries or load grain or put straw in the hayloft or put fencing in. We worked our asses off as kids. We burned stuff like paper or napkins, nothing plastic or food related. We lived in upstate NY and I despised doing it during the winter as I had to take off my gloves to use the matches and my hands would get so cold trying to light a fire in the cold and wind! So, my 3 year old is already responsible for several age appropriate chores, and they'll be increasing along with her age. During the week my mom would leave me a list of things to do after school (emptying the dishwasher, folding the clothes in the dryer, helping my brother with homework, starting dinner, setting the table, etc).
