We tried to avoid it for days but nothing was working.... the Benadryl brought the swelling down almost immediately. We only gave it 3-4 times over 3 days. (I find a dosage by weight chart since she's so petite). After a year old, you can use honey cough syrups otherwise you wait it out. I did buy tylenol. I thought I'd seen people say they had benedryl but they were probably talking about older babies. I went to Walmart and looked for baby benedryl, but could not find it. There were some labeled for 'infants' but if you looked at the packaging closely it said '2+ years old'. (What? that's not an infant...) </p>
