We wanted something that would work for a boy or a girl, that wasn't too babyish. When we painted the rest of our house this spring we didn't paint either the nursery or the office because they will be switched now that #2 is on the way. The nursery will either be the medium beige like the rest of the house or the light green (very similar to the reply box on HB) of our bedroom. I've made this mistake multiple times and now I'm really picky about paint. Most people don't decorate/style enough to make the really bold colors work. I'm starting to wish we would have went with a blue color isntead since green is kind of "common" in a girls' room. We're painting out living room and hallway Abalone this weekend, which is a shade lighter on the same color card. I heard gray helps babies sleep better and I love the color, it'll go with the other grays and blues we're doing the rest of the house in and we can introduce color with the decor like you said.
