As I can't do yellow undertones, I look for reds that have more of a blue undertone (Kind of along the lines of raspberry shades but redder). Also, the more contrasting your hair/eye/skin colour, the brighter the shade of red you can wear; if you're like me, light brown hair, blue eyes, olive skin (in other words, not contrasting at all), it's best to go with a more muted shade. Still not great at picking out the right shade of red for me now but I can definitely pick out the ones that are an immediate no!
