I bet if your painters add in some black that will darken it up a bit. The navy I used in my master looked cobalt in another poster's son's room. We get very little natural light and that for sure makes all the difference sometimes. For the white cabinets we used Benjamin Moore Silver Satin. It reads as a gray ever so slightly, just enough. </p>
