@caffeinated: Yeah, she's been very restless at night. She'll fuss in her sleep a lot, wake up and fall back asleep, etc. I think she was sleeping in because she hasn't been sleeping well. Last night she made it until 7am before she woke up, so I think we may be over the hump.

@zippylef: Whoa, 10am!! She's been screaming around 4:30 and DH will go in, hold her and literally after 5 seconds she falls asleep. I find that the mornings she has a nightwaking, she will wake up pretty late, like at 8am. This morning she woke up at 5:30am, and would NOT go back to sleep because i nursed her around 6:15am. Nursing doesn't seem to work anymore!

It's been 3 months since we sleep trained/night weaned and she is pretty much a perfect sleeper now but she does have the odd night where she wants to throw a fit. She goes through the odd phase where things are weird still.

@caffeinated: C hit 9 months today and she's had some weird sleep patterns. She's been waking up screaming at like 5-6am and then I'll give her a bottle and she'll go back down and sleep until like 10am. Not normal AT ALL.

I'm curious about this myself!

We night weaned recently, and for the last couple of weeks she's been waking up at around 4:30 for a little bit. I'm not sure if it's because she's nearing the 9 month mark and going through a lot developmentally.

It's great until she gets sick again. Then we have to wait until she gets healthy to get her back on track.

My oldest is was an awesome sleeper after CIO. he's almost 4 and is still great but there will be random nights when he doesn't fall asleep right away or stalls to getus back I his room; but he is most parents' dream sleeper. My youngest is a great night sleeper so far. Naps suck but he's still pretty happy soi am okay with that.

My LO is only 10 months and while he's a pretty good sleeper and he's never had a major regression (knock on wood), I would never expect perfect sleep from him for the rest of his life. Babies go through so much development and wake up for whatever reason...most toddlers that I know still wake up in the middle of the night!

I think if your LO is sleep trained, you need to stick to your guns and not stray too far from your original sleep training plan. Especially if he isn't sick. If you re-instate bad habits then they'll be harder to break. If you did CIO with checks before, space out your checks even more (like, every 20-30 minutes).

For all the parents who have sleep trained their babies - are they forever perfect sleepers after that? My LO just turned one. We started putting him in his crib drowsy or even awake very early on, and he has almost always done great falling asleep by himself. We had a long and painful sleep disturbance from about 9-11 months, I think maybe he was just getting good at crawling and wanting to explore everything. Now he's been great for over a month, but after putting him down tonight, he really started crying. I am not worried about letting him cry but it REALLY stresses DH out and makes the home a very unpleasant place to be. Right now I think the little man is just about asleep after 30 mins of intermittent fussing, but just wondered how you deal with not perfect sleep after sleep training??

(Baby boy is not sick right now, and we have a video monitor and I can see he is fine.)
