We have Diono RXTs and it takes up a lot of room to rear-face; but they now sell an angle adjuster for their car seats that will help. I'll be getting one with my second moves to a convertible next year.

We have Britax Marathons. I drove a VW Jetta and dh drives a Nissan Sentra. A big part of why we went with the Britax was because most other convertible carseats are longer.

ETA: posting from my phone...chock full of awful typos and grammar! Yuck!

I have a Ford fusion and have used a Britax marathon forward and rear facing, a boulevard forward and rear facing, a frontier (forward only) and diono radian rear facing- it only fits nicely with the extra angle adjuster though and you can only use it after baby is 1.

Some stores let you try the seat in you're car so maybe head somewhere for a test run.

And what kind of car? I have this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Safety-1st-Complete-Protect-Convertible/dp/B004EBUX80/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1349821954&sr=8-3&keywords=s1+safety+1st

And it doesn't fit in my car! At least not reclining. We have a Mazda CX-7 and the only way I can get it to recline where it is supposed to is to move the passenger seat all the way up. No one would be able to sit in up front. I tried it in the middle but I would still have to move the front seats up too far.

Does anyone have any recommendations? We haven't tried it in my husbands truck yet, so hopefully it fits in there and we only have to exchange one. (We got one as a gift and bought one ourselves).
