UPDATE: We went to the doctor, and it turned out to be an UTI! Relieved we know what it is, and we're starting her on antibiotics right away.

I would say virus or allergies. I've always been prone to headaches, even as a kid and it was usually sinus/allergy related. I still have those headache issues as an adult, and dehydration can really worsen the headaches.

My daughter had a bad headache that led to vomitting. We called the pediatrician, who after ruling out head injury, said it was likely a virus. Went away and hasn't happened again

Not sure about the cause, but my brother would get terrible migraines when he was little. He outgrew them by elementary school. I hope she feels better!

Her sinuses might be full. Has she been keeping well hydrated? I'd try water, sleep, and meds first and then go to the doctor if there's no improvement. Feel better!

I think I read that kids can also have a headache as a symptom of strep.

@littlebug: Was just reading that viral sinus infections are contagious! I was pretty sure mine was bacterial as it seemed to respond well to antibiotics. But maybe that was my imagination, and it was viral and I gave it to my kids!! (My son had a headache and a fever last week as well.)

Sinus infection? I get HORRIBLE headaches when my sinuses flare. That could also explain the fever.

My daughter was crying this afternoon because her head hurt. It's the second time this week she's had a headache + a mild fever. The first time it went away after she took some meds and had a long sleep. Then there were a few days of no complaints, and then today she got another bad headache.

She hasn't bumped her head lately, and doesn't have a history of headaches. There's a history of migraines in my wife's family. I get bad headaches as well (when the weather changes), but the weather lately has been pretty good and I usually get headaches during storms. I got a very bad sinus infection almost two weeks ago that resulted in a very painful headache - is something like that contagious?

I'm inclined to treat my daughter's headache with painkillers and sleep, but if it doesn't get better than we will see the doctor in the morning.

What do you all think could cause a headache + mild fever 2x in one week?
