Sounds like Charlotte. She's been doing this for almost a month now, off and on.; I KNOW hers is teething. I can see her two bottom ones coming in.

I agree with Tylenol. It makes a world of difference. I try not to give her anything but the teething tablets during the day but she gets a dose of Tylenol before bed or else it's tantrum time.

Here's a dosage chart:

@cvbee: yes!

@Mrsdaredevil: Penny has been like that a few times this week, too. I think one night it was due to the heat. She was also just 12 weeks at that point, which is a growth spurt week. She would eat and then be screaming for food 45 minutes later. She is also drooling lile crazy, and her hands are always in her mouth. She seems to be doing better the last few days/nights so I am hoping things improve for you. I didn't give her anything other than extra feedings when she wanted them, and I probably cuddled with her a little more than usual, too:)

I think our May Babies are in a new kind of waiting game, like the two-week-wait; like the waiting for labour to start symptom-spotting; it's the teething game!!!!

Sounds like Sawyer, I think it is teething as well, but it made our first night in the cabin with 10 other people interesting last night! He finally settled with a good dose of tylenol.

Same here! Baby had. 2 hour meltdown the other night and has been extra irritable since late last week! I suspect teething as well and have been using teething tablets/orajel for her when I suspect she is in pain.

Poor babies! It's terrible to see them in pain and not be able to help!

My LO had the same sort of day yesterday unfortunately and I'm pretty sure it's teething. At day care, his teacher said he threw a temper tantrum when she tried to put him down for a nap (something she said she's never seen a 4 month old do!). Then last night he woke up and was inconsolable. We ended up giving him Tylenol since he felt warm and that seemed to help but I had a hard time getting him to go back down. He just really wanted to be held which is not like him. I don't really have any advice but if it makes you feel any better it doesn't seem very unusual behavior. My LO has also has been putting everything he can into his mouth for the last few days and has been really drooly so that's why I suspect teething. Hopefully this will be short-lived- I'm a little afraid about what tonight is going to bring :(.

I would try Tylenol if you think she may be teething. We gave Tylenol to my LO after her 2 month shots and she will inconsolable all day. It made a world of difference. Poor baby :(

It could be teething or a growth spurt (needing to eat all the time) or lots of things. Sometimes developmental things cause sleep disturbances too, weirdly enough. Unless she has a fever or you perceive she's really in pain, I wouldn't take her to the doctor. Hope you have a better night tonight!!

Oh poor baby!! (You and her!) It sounds like it could be teething :-( DD did that for a few days before her teeth finally cut through. The teething gel and tablets didn't do anything for her - I finally gave her some Tylenol and she was a different baby. I hope things get back to normal very soon.

My 12-week old is usually a pretty good sleeper. I have her on a great nap schedule, and she usually only wakes up once, sometimes twice in the nighttime. Well, yesterday and last night were a completely different story.

She usually doesn't fall asleep in my arms. When she is tired, I set her down in her crib and she falls right asleep. However, yesterday she wanted nothing to do with her crib. She would scream and yelp until her voice started cracking, so I would pick her up, but she wouldn't be much happier. She was so sad and fussy the entire day, which is completely out of character for her. She kept bobbing her head around and chewing on her hands....she would even shove her whole fist in her mouth until she started gagging. By 9:00 (an hour and a half past her bedtime), she had been up for 6 hours straight without sleeping.

I finally got her down for bed at 10:30, but she only slept for 45 minutes. When she woke up, she was yelping and screaming and bobbing her head around violently. She was so wiggly in my arms I could hardly hold her! She started sucking on my chest, shoulder, and arms, even though I had fed her less than an hour ago!

After this, I couldn't put her back down in her crib. I ended up letting her sleep on my chest on the couch, but this only lasted for 2 hours. She woke up screaming, and this time she was bobbing her head so violently that she bonked my nose and made it bleed!

I tried everything I could think of throughout the entire night, but nothing made her happy. She was just a drooly, screaming, violent head bobbing mess. She probably got 6 hours of sleep throughout the night.

Could this mean she is cutting a tooth? She has had two little white dots on her gums (teeth) for a couple weeks, but they haven't seem to affect her at all.

I don't know if I should call my doctor or not... I have just never seen her be like this. Help Hive!
