I would suggest you take out just the sound machine part and bring it with you if you ever travel! The 45 min. thing was usually good enough once or twice to get LO in a deep sleep! And the compact size and being battery-operated made it much more appealing to bring on trips! </p> <p>As for us, my sister bought us one of those Turtle Night Light things with the stars on the ceiling. It must have been a dud. Barely lit up and takes up so much counter space.
