If there are silly requests for specific colored cups, lids and sizes, we say, "You get what you get, and you don't get upset!" A former preschool teacher taught DD that one, and it totally works for frivolous requests and squabbles! </p> <p>We also use open cups from IKEA at mealtimes. Olive still needs a lid because she spills, but I only want to use straw cups (sippy is worse for oral development). </p>
