Probably . . . nothing? Maybe a few ratty nightgowns to labor in, and my tablet. But I labored for 48 hours, and I barely touched a thing from my silly overstuffed bag.

A bathrobe and slippers!!! These are vital to my happiness while in the hospital.

More dark, stretchy, comfy yoga pants. My comfy pillow (for afterwards). Cheese and peanut butter crackers are my nursing savior for middle of the night, so I'm bringing a case of them and hopefully we'll have a mini fridge for some milk.

I'm divorcing the Boppy this time around and using a Paisley pillow instead and will bring that too. My breastpump since I didn't even have one last time, just in case we have NICU time again or supply issues. Otherwise I'm pretty minimalist and just want my laptop and iPod along with the basic necessities.

Better PJs and snacks for DH and I! I did not feel like eating much after my c-section, but poor DH starved.

I'll still bring my own pillows, toiletries, and boppy. I stopped just short of bringing my own towels!

@HLK208: Next time I'm totally taking protein bars. Both times I've been SO hungry during middle of the night feeding a and would've killed for one!

I took headbands so I could keep my hair up and back. I also took yoga pants and flyaway cardigans to wear so that I could feel semi put together/like myself. The PJs I took for #1 made me feel frumpy.

With number 2, my favorite items were: my pillow, nice nursing pajamas for recovery, protein bars and my all time favorite soap to wash with...it sounds lame, but it made me feel so much better to shower and smell decent when we had visitors.

I just packed my hospital bag hahah! It just makes me feel better being somewhat ready. I definitely am bringing snacks coz the hospital food was horrid! Good idea about the hospital gown! However, I feel like I will lose all dignity once again and parade
around in my birthday suit!

Haven't had #2 yet but I'm bringing my hair dryer next time. I don't like letting my hair air dry and wished I had brought it with me. I'm the same as you. I didn't pack my bag until my labor started.

@Arden: Haha, I was the exact opposite. I was literally throwing together a bag after my water had already broken.

My makeup which I forgot the first time! And some headbands to help myself look semi decent for visits. Pure vanity. Oh and a hair bow... In case it was a girl :)

I brought all the same stuff for the actual birth, music, snacks, birthing ball etc but in nether case did I have time or inclination to use them.

Let me start of by saying I am NOT one of those "have your hospital bag ready weeks and weeks before you go into labor" people. A) I don't see myself being in that big of a rush. B) We can see the hospital from our kitchen window so if I forget anything it isn't hard for me to get it, lol. But I can say what I plan to bring this time is COMPLETELY different than with my last birth.

These are the things I'm planning on bringing that I didn't the first time around:

1) My own birthing gown (its a Pretty Pushers gown). I HATED the hospital gown last time. It was stiff and scratchy and horrible. And my hospital won't just let you wear comfy clothes (they need access to your back and belly) so I invested in a pretty pushers.
2) Jambox speaker for my phone. But this is because I'm planning on using Hypnobabies this time whereas I did not last time.
3) Baggy comfy/PJ pants for postpartum. I'm a yoga pant girl 100%. I actually didn't even own any baggy comfy pants. Didn't think about the fact that I'd basically be in an adult diaper (because of PP bleeding) directly following giving birth so I actually had to send DH home last time to grab some of HIS sweats for me to wear, lol.
4) Air freshener. A) I hate the smell of hospitals. B) I've been using the same Scentsy Scent every time I listen to my hypnobabies tracks so I'm bringing that scent to the hospital with me.

What about you?
