Then she opened all her presents right before bedtime. </p> <p>We had a birthday party the Saturday prior at a neighborhood brewery and invited a few friends. I made a chocolate cake and a separate smash cake. Sang happy birthday there and the donut was his first cake. It was a week day so he went to daycare that day and we brought donuts for his teachers. At the weekend we hired the party room in our condo building and had friends over.</p> <p>On DS's birthday we had a picnic and cake in a gorgeous park near where we live. Lots of his cousins came and they played on the grass, went on a boat and had ice cream after.
