Then at least a year later I found it in the bottom of a freezer drawer and strangely enough we had cleaned and scrubbed the drawers so it must have been stuck to the bottom of something! I also found my step dad's in the yard after he had lost it months earlier. It also was not a big financial loss as we were students when we got engaged but it was very sentimental and i remained hopeful for as long as we lived in that apartment. We moved 2 years ago (so all hope is lost of finding it). We have discussed replacing it but it has not been a priority so it has not happened yet. I think i will replace it for sure within the next few years, even with a slight upgrade. It won't ever really replace the ring he gave me when we got engaged but I did intend on wearing a diamond ring forever and i am sad i don't have one anymore so it will still be nice to have a replacement similar to the old one. I chose a ring knowing I would use it as my wedding/ engagement ring when the time came. Due to the fact that it is so special and important to me I would be a mess if I lost it. I don't wear it all the time because I'm so paranoid about losing it. I was playing with it in the van while stuck in traffic and it flew backwards. I didn't look for it at preschool or daycare pickup because of the busy streets. I was sure it didn't fall out at either location but now I think I'm wrong. DH took out the car seats, van seats, and floor mats and scoured every inch of it. I checked the streets near preschool and daycare. So I'm pretty sure it's gone. </p> <p>Not sure what to do next. I don't feel ready to replace it. It was only a thin gold band so fortunately it isn't a big financial loss. </p> <p>If you lost yours what did you do? </p>
