Cold pizza from the hospital cafeteria. I had an unplanned induction due to pre-e and had to get something in my stomach before they started. I didn't have many options though.

I was induced unexpectedly but my last meal was my thanksgiving dinner! I guess that might be too heavy before induction but maybe a mini version? Like a hot turkey sandwich from Wawa if you have Wawa!

I actually didn't eat dinner beforehand (the doctor didn't tell me to!) so the nurses brought me dinner before I was induced (I can't remember what it was.) I did end up throwing up but it had been so long from induction until then that I am sure it was just labor related. I didn't eat until 36 hours later and was FAMISHED! The nurses brought me two turkey sandwiches.
I would eat something filling without being too heavy.

The last thing I ate before my morning induction was probably oatmeal. Once admitted I was only allowed to have clear liquids and I was starving after a few hours! I took a zofran before I got there and wasn't and more nauseous than "normal" during labor. DS wasn't born til almost 2 am. The brought me a ham sandwich after I was stitched up 😊

I had a morning induction, but I wasn't allowed to eat after midnight so we went out to dinner the night before with my whole family. I really wanted Applebee's wings for who knows what reason. I made sure to get dessert too!

I had two fried eggs with mozzarella cheese on toast. Wish I had had more protein! I was hungry too soon! I had an induction with misoprostol though, so I got to eat again at noon!! Had chix salad wrap. Didn't puke, but felt like it at 1 or 2 points.... Don't think I pooped this time. I did last time :/

I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a banana. I wasn't in labor long before I had an emergency csection. But I never felt nauseous and didn't eat until the following day. I do wish I had more to drink. I was so thirsty after the section and they wouldn't let me drink for a few hours

@Mrs. Pickle: depending on how you handle the induction you may puke/poop during labor. I did both. Keep that in mind. Don't try anything new or spicy IMO

@Alivoo01: good call. This was my plan.

I had a scheduled induction on a Wednesday and had reservations at my favorite restaurant that night. I would have had steak, potatoes, some kind of veggies and bread. Sadly I had an unplanned induction 4 days early. So I did not get the chance to choose. I had waffles and bacon.

Something filling and high in protein an induction is a marathon.

I let DH pick and he wanted BBQ. Such a terrible idea! I am diabetic and this drove up my blood sugar to the point that I was immediately on insulin and saline, with monitors, so no walking around at all. It was 37 hours from the start of the induction to having a baby, with no eating. He doesn't get to choose this time.

With DS I didn't know I was going to have him when I did, the doctor sent me straight to the hospital from an appointment, so I didn't eat anything.
With DD I knew they wouldn't let me eat, so after my water broke, we stopped at Whataburger on the way to the hospital and I got a burger and onion rings. I don't think they were a good idea, though, I had terrible heartburn during labor.

I had a scheduled c-section. I actually ate a soft/liquid diet and no meat/dairy for 24 hours then nothing for 12 hours before. I heard it could really help with gas issues and bowel movements post-section. For dinner I had veggie Pho and a mango smoothie. It seemed to work.

Whatever that is solid that you know will sit well in your system. I had Jack in the Box (induction that went to emergency c-section). I did puke in the OR and that was gross but I'm glad I had something in my system bc it was a long 36-38 hours between my induction starting and going to recovery and then I was only allowed clear liquids for like 12 hours. Burgers and fries wouldn't be good for everyone but I knew they made my weird stomach feel better during pregnancy so I went with it. I would just stay away from anything acidic or spicy because that might hurt real bad coming back. I will likely have an RCS next time bc of my pelvis shape so I will definitely have to plan something amazing next time!

My induction was spur of the moment so there was no planning involved. I think I had like a yogurt and granola bar that dh brought me when he raced to get to the hospital before they started. I think my ob also told me to eat in between cervidil and pitocin--I think I had a bagel with cream cheese then? Not such great options!

DD2: the night before my C-section I had a big ole meal because I knew I wouldn't be eating for awhile. I had steak, mac & cheese, and dessert. And then I woke up at 4 in the morning (my cut off time) for a protein bar

My Dr checked me at around 9am and after the the decision to induce was decided (after checking the nicu), she told me to eat a good breakfast. I can't remember what I ate but I did take a picture of it. Let me see if i can find it.

ETA: picture is just the aftermath of what I ate so I won't post it here. ;) I had some white toast, a cinnamon bun, Apple slices, yogurt parfait, watermelon and some Cheerios (without milk). I wanted to eat things that wouldn't upset my stomach and wouldn't make me nauseous, so I stayed away from fatty meats and dairy products. (I was eating those foods while in the hospital and leading up my induction... Didn't want to eat anything I would regret.)
