well, I had a package of peanut butter crackers around 5 am and drank the drink at 10 am. we will see how it goes!

they also allowed me to drink water during the hour while I waited. thank god, because the air conditioning was out!

I ate plain oatmeal with both boys. Passed the first test with my first son and failed the first test with my second son but passed the 3-hour. I don't think it matters too much what you eat with the first test b/c they want to see how your body responds to the drink with what you normally eat. However, the nurse did say don't eat anything super sugary when I asked her. Good luck with your test!

Interesting. I was told not to eat anything after midnight. I passed with flying colors-107. When I was done...I got a half caff iced coffee and a chocolate croissant! Ha.

Yeah I would just call and see what they suggest! They said "protein, like some scrambled eggs" to me but I'm not sure about what specifically you can eat.

Here they say not to change anything about your diet:

http://www.livestrong.com/article/362215-foods-to-avoid-before-a-glucose-tolerance-test-during-pregnancy/

There are some babycenter threads on the subject if you google, but I'd still call just to be safe! (To avoid having to do it again unnecessarily.)

It should go as you said (drink, wait, blood draw) if you drink it at the office. Mine was done all in the doctors office and overlapped with my appointment. I drank it, went in for my appointment, and at the end of my appointment had blood drawn. Is it possible for you to maybe save time by going down, drinking the drink, getting your rhogam shot, and then going back for the blood draw? Might be something to consider if you don't want to wait around for an hour.

@googly-eyes: they didn't give me the stuff to take home, as I've seen some people do...so let's say I'm finished with the rhogam by 10:30..do I go downstairs, drink the drink and hang for an hour? then they do 1 blood draw? or do I have to do anything in between?

Nothing! But my appointment was at 9:15 am and I had to drink the glucola at 8:45am. I was told I could eat something without sugar, such as eggs.

I ate a giant bowl of honey bunches of oats - I failed my 1st time but passed the extended glucose screening.

For my next baby I am just going to eat some eggs and maybe a piece of toast with milk. Nothing too sugary and not a huge breakfast.

My 1-hour test is tomorrow at 10:30 ish! I have to have the Rhogam at 10.

I'm nervous about what to eat tonight and tomorrow morning, though. I was instructed not to fast.

What did you eat? Did it affect results?
