Not because I think I'm like too cool for "normal" movies... the meta-ness just sort of added an extra dimension. I think my problem with both of the other two movies is that I felt that the message was very transparent, and was being thrown in my face over and over. In the end I found the writing too transparent. I actually thought the acting was terrific, I just didn't like the writing!</p> <p>I haven't seen it in years, it just struck me the wrong way when I saw it (Eternal Sunshine struck me the same way). I love this movie!!</p> <p>I know Nicholas Cage can be weird at times and I have definitely not liked that many of his movies, but I thought he was absolutely brilliant in this... also, Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper blew me away as well. Brian Cox was only in a few scenes, but he was definitely a scene stealer!</p> <p>But the real star was the screenplay I thought... it was so meta.
