Eating and eating and eating and eating. And waking up on the hour every hour. And then, suddenly clothes don't fit. Now that she's a toddler, I only know because the clothes suddenly don't fit.

@LovelyPlum: Oh I nurse to sleep like crazy since it does not require me rocking her till my arms fall off!

Thank you for the encouragement

@PinkElephant: No way you can tell! I can really only gauge by how much she's filling out her clothes!

@snowjewelz: Do it! And yes on the not knowing about sleepy or hungry. I always offered if there was a chance she was hungry. It's OK to let her fall asleep after nursing, too! She's still so little!

The thing that helped me keep my sanity was to remember that your supply is still being established until 12 weeks. I think it was around that time that I decided wearing a shirt was just a PITA and just wore tanks and sweaters all the time. She was on the boob constantly, but that's where she needed to be.

You're doing great, Mama :)

Rotten sleep. And she chunks up before stretching out, so we know that when she's looking really round, in a day or two she will wake up taller!

@ellewoods84: Ugh yes, she wants to nurse, and then she gets pissed off if there's not enough, or not coming fast enough. That pissed off face she makes while hitting my boob & screaming is just priceless!

@LovelyPlum: My pedi offer that too, since there's still 3+ weeks till her 2 mo check up I might take them up on the offer lol!

I have a hard time telling whether she's fussing b/c she's hungry or tired. I usually choose hungry until she's just angry at the boob haha!

For us, the 6 week was omg. She just wanted to nurse, nurse, nurse, would sleep for 10 minutes, wake up screaming, nurse. I swear I nursed her one day like 15 times. I honestly can't remember how long it lasted, but I'm sure your supply is fine if there are plenty of wet diapers. Growth spurts for us=all day and night nurseathon.

Constant, incessant nursing. Constant. Sometimes, it would also be accompanied by lots of sleep, and sometimes, it would be accompanied by very little sleep. I worried about supply, too, but don't forget: she's still establishing yours! If she's got the right amount of diapers, then just let her nurse. When I was concerned about weight, my pedi let us bring her in for weight checks. But mostly, get some good nipple cream and a snack and a big glass of water and nurse, nurse, nurse!

ETA: as far as how long it will last? Hard to say. I decided somewhere in the middle of her 6 week long 6 month growth spurt that I was going to stop questioning everything and just let it be. If you're pretty confident that this could be a growth spurt, then I say go with your gut :)

Do you always know when one's starting? What are they like for LO and for you?

I think mine is starting her 6 week growth spurt... I have heard that this is big one, and I also keep doubting and wonder if it's something else (I have low supply? Sick? List goes on). And I can't imagine how long it will last!
