We went through this when Claire was supposedly teething at 9 months. She was definitely teething -- all four top teeth broke through very shortly after. However, all she wanted to snuggle and be held. We put up with it for about 4 weeks but realized we were making it worse. We ler her cry it out after the 2nd or 3rd wakeup depending on the time. It did work and she did get down to 1-2 wakeups a night. We didn't have a toddler in the next room over, so I can imagine that might not be the best option. Good luck...it's so hard!

I'm in the same boat with my 9 month old. I also don't recall it being this bad with LO1. Currently in survival mode, and I feel like my baby turned back into an infant. Sometimes I can just nurse him back to sleep but there is usually one wake up where he stays up for over an hour. 4 teeth have already came in with no evidence of better sleep ahead. :(

How old? My LO's sleep went to crap at 8 mo and we are still waiting for it to fully recover at 10 mo. The 4 and 6 mo regressions also hit us hard, but we are just riding it out. It seems to be fairly normal, unfortunately.

sorry mama! R had a regression around 8 months when her top 4 teeth came in all at once. it was more 2-3 times a night and i just nursed every time to get her back down happily. i stuck it out for about 6 weeks until she went back to 1 wake up on her own.

My DD's nighttime sleep has taken a complete nosedive. She used to wake up once between 3:30 and 5 to nurse and then would go back to sleep until 7ish. She even seemed to be flirting with consistently STTN.

Then teething hit. Since the beginning of July she's been waking up at least 4 times a night. She doesn't try to nurse every time- as soon as I pick her up she nuzzles her head into me and goes straight to sleep. If I try to put her down again right away she screams bloody murder. If she's sleeping in bed with me she sleeps fine. Is this separation anxiety?

Or is it a normal phase? I don't remember DS going through it but I'd be fine with waiting it out..,if one day in the not so distant future this stops. (My toddler has also become a horrible nighttime sleeper and I'm so tired!). I'd normally want to try CIO but she sleeps in a room right next to her brother's room and I don't think it'd go well..

Any advice or commiseration??
