We had a flu scare last week but it was really high fevers for both kids, vomiting, the runs, and acting listless/limp for about 2 days. They tested flu negative and were on the mend after that. My kids have asthma, so I'm really vigilant about any breathing distresses.</p> <p>Things to look for with breathing issues: skin sucking in around the ribs, over the belly, and around the neck are all signs of breathing difficulties. Also signs: breathing faster than normal, being lethargic, blue lips. If you see any of these, absolutely take him to the ER.</p> <p>Otherwise I think monitoring his fever (keeping it below 103, right? Double-check that) and making sure he gets enough fluids and you should be okay. Head's up this will probably be long. My son will be 6 next month. He came home from school on Monday and vomited twice. We gave him Motrin on Tuesday- once in am, and once in pm. He got a fever that evening. He slept 12+ hours and woke up Wednesday morning acting normal. He went to school Wednesday and today. He still complained of belly pain yesterday, but said he's ok today. He pooped last night, so I assumed he just had to go and that was causing him discomfort. Also worth noting, my younger son had a tummy bug on Saturday, but has been fine since. </p> <p>All this to say, would you take him to the Dr? I know the flu is running rampant, but since it's been over 48 hrs...would they do anything? I guess I'm just worried that I could be missing something and he'll get worse. All these horror stories of the flu are freaking me out! Advice? If you've read all this...THANK YOU!</p> <p>ETA- I'll call the Dr's office when they open...just looking for other mama's advice! </p>
