It's the only rice I buy and I use it for everything. Plain on the side with butter and salt, fried rice, stir fry, coconut rice etc.

I make it to accompany Indian food, as well.

I like it with sausage, sautéed peppers and onions, and lentils. I find it gives everything a nice flavor.

Also with curry over here. I always rinse the rice first, to get rid of some of the starch. Then if time permits, let it soak for 20-30 min (the rice gets longer, which is preferable in Basmati). Then I usually just serve with a chicken curry (store bought sauce, like Butter chicken or Tikka Masala, or Vindaloo).

@SweetCaroline: you can cook it like regular rice with just salt and water in a rice cooker or in a pan. Then eat it with a stir fry, or any stew or curry you have in mind

I use it for indian cooking. Usually to go as an accompaniment to curry. You could buy prepacked curry or make your own.
Also you could use it to make biryani if curry aint your jam.

Coconut rice with some sort of curry on top is good, but we usually just cook it like normal and eat it that way (usually with a curry or a soup)

I mostly use basmati rice when I cook Indian dishes. My favorite Indian dishes are shahi paneer, vindaloo, daal malika.

LO also loves basmati rice; she would eat rice every day if I let her. Sometimes I'll add some pine nuts and herbs to it, mostly leave it plain.

I bought a bag of basmati rice some time ago and have done nothing with it. To be honest, I don't even know where to start.

Do you have any general guidance for using this particular type of rice? Bonus points if you have a favorite recipe to share
