crafting supplies... paint, glue, stickers, safety scissors, puff balls, markers, etc.

Comfort item... blanket, soft teddy

umbrella stroller? It is cheaper than a full fledged stroller, but 2 year olds might not want to walk much.

Another thought, if this is a foster situation or kinship/NREFM, you might want to see if you can get any info about how much stuff she will be coming with. T came with the onesie he had on, a bottle and a paci. O came with 2 SUV loads of rubbermaid bins and several large baby containers/toys. So you might want to wait for a big shopping spree until you know for sure what she already has!

Stickers and lots of books and art supplies are awesome for 2 year old girls. And stuffed animals so she can snuggle with them if she's scared/at night.

My daughter is 2.5. She’s really into her dolls and blocks and art. She loves painting. She also still has a soother and a bottle 😬 so inquire about that too. She just switched to a toddler bed from a crib. She uses a sleep sack but is fine without it too. She also sleeps with white noise (as i am describing her I realize she sounds like a newborn! She’s a diva)

Clothes she mostly wears comfy tights and shirts. She’s really into slippers too. Depending on her hair a good brush and detangler might be a good idea. My daughters is short and thin so I need neither for her, but some friends have lots of knot issues with their girls.

Good luck!

@Mosmith: Regarding food, it really depends on the child. My two year old eats everything we eat. But good snacks to have on hand, apple sauce, raisins, cheese strings, yogurt.
Also have kid floss and kid toothpaste. My 2 year old uses flouride free training toothpaste because he can't spit properly

A baby doll for sure. Maybe even take her to pick one out at the store herself.

@Mrs. Turtle: had amazing suggestions.

Mac n cheese, spaghettios, PB&J are traditional kid fare and may help comfort her. Goldfish crackers, Graham crackers, fruit.

If you're able a shopping trip with her would be helpful so she can point out her favorite fruits, etc. Good luck!

My 2 year old loves dolls (the Melissa & Doug Jenna doll her is her fav), play food/kitchen, play doh, wood puzzles, and her scooter.
She now refuses to wear footie pajamas and only wears nightgowns, so you might want a few options for pj's.
She's not potty trained yet but does like to use the toilet - so a kid seat for the toilet and maybe some training underwear.
Sippy cups, kid friendly plates/bowls.
She eats whatever we eat, but loves fruit, pizza, mac & cheese, fruit cheerios, oatmeal.

@Mosmith: Do you know her, or is it a foster situation? Either way really, kids at that age have a really hard time in a different home with different caregivers. I'd get some super cozy jammies, a fuzzy blanket and a really cool projection nightlight. One of the ones that rotates even. Depending on how close to 3 she is, and how her language is, you could get a couple books about love following you wherever you are. There are several that are great. If there's any way to find out her favorite foods ahead of time, have those stocked even if they're junk. They help a lot with security.

Is she potty trained or no? what's your climate like?

-You will need clothes and pjs either way. Diapers or panties. Socks, shoes, winter gear (if applicable). A bed and bedding (2 year olds can go either way with crib or real bed). Will she be going to daycare or preschool?

Um...snacks and a good refillable straw or sippy cup, but kids like different things so you might take her with you to pick one out or ask what she's been using.

And lots of  Good luck! Exciting.
