I loved them. They were never painful, although sometimes surprisingly strong. I miss them!

I can't really describe the feeling other than something inside you moving around. And at the end, something inside you trying to GET OUT!

The sweeter, Mommy-ish version: it felt like little butterfly kisses at first...but from the inside. As they got stronger, it felt like popcorn...again, from the inside. Then it felt like a wrestling match. They never really hurt...the pain was when one (or both) lodged themselves into awkward positions. DD's butt was lodged at a right angle against my ribcage for a couple weeks toward the end, and that wasn't fun.
The not-so-sweet version: Kicks honestly felt like I was so constipated that my intestines were dancing and gurgling, on the verge of explosion. But instead of it being deep inside (like your intestines), it's more toward the top, closer to the skin.
I miss those weird little kicks so much!

It felt like an alien trying to get out towards the end - and my stomach would get so pointy when it was his knees or elbows coming through.

@Leialou: It's the weirdest, coolest thing ever, except when it's not. :) At first it's just little tiny movements that you probably won't even be positive are baby movements, like little pops and flutters. Then, as baby(ies) get bigger, it starts feeling exactly like someone is softly kicking you from the inside. The massage chair thing is a good example. You'll put your arm on your stomach and it will literally feel like baby says, "You're squishing me!" and kicks you to get you to move. By the end when they're big and there isn't much room, it can be uncomfortable to painful when they give you a really strong kick in the wrong place like the bladder or ribs. Mostly, it's still fun and sweet, though. The only time it can be a little tiring is when you're trying to sleep and baby is literally make your bed shake from all the movement!

I feel a sort of stretching rolling feeling...like a too big gum ball moving around in my mouth. But, in my pelvis. I've never had any popping or fluttering sensations.

First it's like little gas bubbles (and at first, I had to wait a few minutes after feeling them to know if it actually was gas - haha), then it moves to muscle spasm-like feelings. When they get a little bigger, it can be like slow moving motions across your stomach or big kicks, depending on the personality.

people are explaining it so much better than i could! i tried to explain to my husband this weekend... i'm just about 22 weeks so have only recently started feeling her... and i explained it like an eyelid twitching so i'm glad others feel the same sensation and i'm not imagining that's baby! and also sometimes it feels like... when your stomach drops on a rollercoaster... kinda like that but in one isolated spot. but the popcorn popping is a really good explanation, i think!

I never was able to detect what people describe as the "flutters," but from week 17-21, it felt like what @mrs. wagon described: Like those random pulses that I get on the side of my neck or in random spots on my body. Not painful, but noticeable. But more recently, starting week 22, if he kicks in a ticklish spot (on the sides of my belly!) it actually tickles! And I've felt a bit of the flopping when he changes positions. That's a strange feeling.

In the beginning, I thought it felt like a fish flopping in my stomach. Then as the baby gets bigger, I felt thumps and then rolling movements.

It really is amazing. I never felt it hurt. With my second, I could really see the movement from the outside. So cool.

Totally feels like muscle twitches (you know, when your eyelid twitches or feels like it has a heartbeat when you're tired?) in the beginning.. and flutters! Like your heart fluttering, but in your abdomen. So weird. They get more obvious and painful as baby gets bigger and stronger, obviously. The WEIRDEST thing is feeling like they're still inside and kicking you after they're born! I'd be like "ugh! ... wait, I have no idea what that was since the baby is out now..."

At first it's a lot like muscles twitches, but now at almost 35 weeks, there's no other way to say it but that it feels like a baby moving around inside you! It's honestly starting to be a little unsettling.

@Ra: That's exactly what it felt like the first time I felt my LO kick. I was talking to my mom and I had three pops right in a row. I told her I thought that it was the baby kicking. It was.

For the longest time it felt like really strong gas, but it quickly turned into thumps. She would wake DH in the night kicking him. My stomach would jump each night because she would kick so much. Funny thing---whenever she is excited, mad, happy, or whatever--feet are always kicking. :)

@Ra: yes! Popcorn popping inside of you is just how I describe it. To me it didn't feel at all like gas, different places inside you, different feeling completely for me.

At first it feels kind of like gas or like a PP said, popcorn popping. Then it kind of feels like a combo of thuds & muscle spams to me but way more magical. I would never stop what I'm doing g to wait for another muscle spasm but I I always pause after feeling a kick & mentally say hello. I never felt any pain due to kicks/activity with LO 1. Feeling her move always brought me nothing but joy & excitement & so far, I feel the same about #2!

until about 22 weeks they felt like a hamster doing somersaults in my stomach. Then they felt like little pops/thumps. Then around 32 weeks LO got squished and she would brace herself against my ribs or hipbone and try to stretch out...but there was nowhere to go lol. Mostly I really liked it. But sometimes it got uncomfortable towards the end and I needed to ask her to simmer down a bit.

The beginning kicks, or "flutters," feel like popcorn popping in your belly. Once the baby gets bigger, the kicks feel more like kicks, but they were never painful. The only pain (from kicks) that I experienced was when he'd lodge his legs beneath my ribcage.
