We actually have people ask to have their parties at our house because it's ideal. We end up hosting things all year. </p> <p>But for the every day, it currently has one seating area in front of the fireplace, and another by the front window. We don't actually use either one, but again,, they're great conversation areas for parties. What do you use it for?" </p> <p>We live in a 60's ranch house, which my husband remodeled about 6 years ago (before we were married). He and his father insisted on knocking out a wall that made half the damn house into one room. It is the room you first walk into and it is so awkward. We've started trying different furniture set-ups, so it's getting better, but we've even had a good friend who is a decorator come in and get stumped by it. We joke that it's our ballroom. I collect egg plates and have them hanging all over my dining room, which is right by the entryway. I'm sure people think I'm weird for it, but I love them! </p>
