Starting around 18 months my LO could not be contained by the crib so we did a slow transition to a floor bed and she sleeps with an ikea pillow and ikea comforter, and has slowly added stuffed animals. Right now it’s 3-4, up from 2-3 a couple months ago! Now she’s 26 months.

@wrkbrk: Yep, going fine. We didn't mean to switch so early, but after a hospital stay she decided she wasn't going back in the crib. And literally hasn't been in one since. We had a twin set up, so we just used that. She got up here and there for the first few weeks, so we had more wake ups than we had been having, but nothing terrible. Now even when she wakes up she rarely gets out of bed on her own.

@LadyDi: Our crib turns into a toddler bed so he can keep the same sheets, pillow cases, etc. He has two toddler pillows in his crib right now, two blankets (he lays on top of both lol), two teddy bears, and usually a truck in his hand :silly: Also a paci and a water cup!

Switched my daughter at 18 months and she is in a twin with a toddler pillow and duvet and a bunch of stuffed animals (her choice for those, lol). We tried a regular pillow initially, but it was too thick and the only reason we put a pillow was to encourage her to stay at the top end of the bed. She has only recently started using the pillow and keeping the duvet on her at night at 2 years old.

2 small pillows, a toddler sized quilt (twin bed), her fuzzy blanket to snuggle with, and maybe 15 stuffed animals. Depending on how long she takes to go to sleep, more stuffed animals often make their way into bed. She likes to be surrounded. Oh and she'll be 2 in 2 weeks.

Pillow, sheets, blanket, and lovie. Sometimes a toy car or two, but I try to sneak off with them after DS is asleep so they don't crash to the floor at 2 am and wake everyone.

My 21m toddler sleeps in a low-to-the-floor twin bed, with a bed rail, two small pillows, and 3-4 small stuffed animals.

He had been sleeping with sleepsacks but we are re-evaluating that right now. I wouldn't be ok with a heavy blanket at all because he still rolls around so much. Currently our house is still 75-77 degrees at night, so no real need :) He does sleep in cotton long sleeves, pants, and socks.

We transitioned DS1 to a floor bed on a twin mattress so we needed to make it cozier. We put in a plush body pillow along the wall and then gave him a flat pillow, fun sheets, and a very thin soft plush blanket. And all 6-7 stuffed animals and lovies he'd always slept with. We also gave him a special new small blanket as a big boy comfort object to associate with the new bed (it was just a small fleece blanket with a print he really loved). He basically had a nest. He would kick the covers off and what not but he always wanted to be tucked in proper each night. We had him in sleepsacks with feet during this time. He is 3 now and we just introduced a down alternative comforter and he likes having all the sheets and blankets still.

I bought a toddler sheet set off Amazon, the sheet has elastic on it, so it stays on the bed at least. He has a quilt that gma made, a small pillow, and too many stuffed animals.

Toddler pillow (he asked for it) and a blanket thats just for show...

He still ends up out of the bed sometimes so there is no way that he is keeping a blanket on... He just out grew his sleep sacks and I am super sad about that.

In her toddler bed the same as the crib. An AA dream blanket, toddler pillow and several stuffies. When she graduates to a bigger bed then we will do a sheet and duvet- my sister already gave me a nice hand me down one that goes with her room.

We moved my son into a bed at about 2.5. He'd had a blanket in his crib for a while (an A&A dream blanket) but basically I'd put it over him when he lay down, I'd put it back over him when I went in to check on him before I went to bed, and it was never on him when he woke up. When we moved him to the toddler bed we also gave him a toddler pillow, and he had his stuffed animals. It took months before he would end up with his head on the pillow in the morning, and it's been a year and he still usually doesn't have the blanket on him when he wakes up.

I am going to attempt to transition my 2 year old into a bed in the next month. In his crib he has a small blanket and a couple of stuffed animans but I am not sure what to do in his new bed? Do I introduce a pillow and sheets and a comforter? Is that too much? He sleeps fine without any of those things right now and still rolls all over the place so I don't even know how effective bedding would be.
