And since I work in a school, I still get all the holidays, spring break, and summers off. And I get paid what a teacher with an MA makes, (but shhh...secret..I don't have any grading).</p> <p>The only downside is major job insecurity. All across the nation, library budgets are being cut, so if a school district is facing budget cuts, they obviously aren't going to let their math, science, and english teachers go.....so it's the librarian, art teacher, etc. Same with public libraries. Essentially I design promotions and customer outreach, manage our social media and apps, plus fill in wherever else they are short (drive shuttle, work counter, assemble orders, etc).
